Sangha Friends Online Monthly Gathering

“Ananda said to the Blessed One, ‘This is half of the holy life, lord: admirable friendship, admirable companionship, admirable camaraderie.”

“Don't say that, Ananda. Don't say that. Admirable friendship, admirable companionship, admirable camaraderie is actually the whole of the holy life. When a monk has admirable people as friends, companions, and comrades, he can be expected to develop and pursue the Noble Eightfold Path.”

— Upaddha Sutra

Every fourth Wednesday of each month from 8:30 pm to 10:00 pm EST is an opportunity for the Chan Dharma Community members to stay in touch or meet new members and support each other’s practice.

Each gathering begins with a 10-minute meditation period, followed by a welcoming to invite everyone to check in and share. Participants can talk about whatever has come up in the past month, support one another, and stay in touch as a Sangha. It also offers an opportunity to talk about anything that has come up in the Dharma study course if the participant is engaged with that program.

This is an open and unstructured opportunity for participants to connect with each other, and members can join in a session whenever their schedules allow. Our host is Beth Adelman.
