Tips
A great fast, healthy and warm breakfast. Ground flax seeds and wheat germ are another tasty topping I’d recommend. This is a fun recipe to do with kiddos, too.
Ingredients
2 c water
⅛ tsp salt
1 ½ c quick cook oats, can substitute with a very oaty muesli (or mix and match)
Handful of raisins or chopped dried fruit of your choice
½ Honeycrisp apple, chopped
1 ½ tsp vanilla extract
½ Tbsp cinnamon
2 Tbsp honey or maple syrup
Fresh fruit of your choice for topping
Your preferred milk alternative (pictured with unsweetened almond milk)
Preparation
Bring water and salt to a boil in a small saucepan.
Add oats, raisins/dried fruit, apple, vanilla extract, cinnamon and honey.
Reduce heat to simmer and cook for 5 minutes.
Serve topped with fresh fruit and milk alternative.
